KQFF was founded with the Korea Queer Culture Festival(KQCF) which has been held since 2001. The Korea Queer Culture Festival has played an important role as a festival for LGBT in South Korea, where the general awareness of LGBT remains low. Together with KQCF, KQFF has striven to offer the general a recognition of diversity based on sexual preferences through screening various LGBT films in the world.
